Ghanaian rapper and businessman Criss Waddle has sparked debate over the reception of Shalipopi’s hit song Laho, arguing that if a Ghanaian artist had released it, they would have faced backlash.
Citing past criticism of Kuami Eugene’s Wele, S3b3, Kontomire and Stonebwoy’s Putuu, Waddle believes Ghanaian musicians are unfairly judged for making fun, non-lyrical songs.

Taking to X, he wrote: “U Dey come do Desperado, Many Many, My Amigo, Balotelli for Ghana here u give punch self them say e be weak. How much more just names?”
His comments have reignited discussions on double standards in the industry.
